Knowing if Bare Mineral Makeup is Right for You

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Bare Mineral Makeup initiated the mineral makeup revolution nearly a decade ago. Since that time, makeup manufacturers everywhere have taken steps to cash in on Bare Mineral. As a result, the ideas behind the original cosmetics have become distorted in the public eye.

Often people believe that mineral makeups are all the same. But there are many different meanings for the term “mineral makeup.” Lots of very different versions are all legal when describing cosmetics. Bare Mineral Makeup utilizes one of the strictest definitions in existence to govern their mineral cosmetics. This makes the company truly valuable to people who care about their complexions and their beauty budget.

Here are a few of the things that Bare Mineral Makeup believes set it apart from other mineral makeup manufacturers:

* Bare Mineral is entirely hypoallergenic - Not only are there no fragrances or oils, there is no talc. Talc is an allergen for many people. This lack is particularly noteworthy because many makeup lines claim to be mineral makeup based solely on talc content.

* This makeup is actually good for your skin - The continued use of these products often leads to alleviation of adult acne and rosacea. This may be largely because of the brand’s hypoallergenic nature since it will not aggravate already-sensitive skin like other foundations and cosmetics will. However, regardless of whether it has healing powers, as many claim, or just gives your body a chance to overcome epidermal issues on its own, Bare Mineral Makeup wearers do report developing clearer skin over time.

* Bare Mineral Products have a natural SPF of 15 no matter what - The makeup line has received the Skin Cancer Foundation’s seal of recommendation. SPF 15 is recommended when it comes to daily sun protection. Bare Mineral products save you from the application of sunscreen under your makeup. With Bare Mineral you can more easily protect yourself from skin cancer. Also it means you are more likely to do so.

Bare Escentuals is another name for the Bare Mineral Makeup line. These brands can be found in what the company terms “BE Boutiques” around the country. You can also find them at steep discounts online. If you love your skin and want your makeup to keep you looking better than ever, Bare Mineral Makeup is for you.

Incontinence Care Product Aisle: Selecting the Right Product

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

As I said in my last post, understanding the different terminology applied to incontinence care products can be a troublesome task. A lot of manufacturers use different names for similar products for senior care. Adult diapers or briefs, inserts or liners, pads or guards, pull-ons or slip-ons, protective underwear or discreet underwear, belted undergarments or belted shields: how do you know which is which? There are six basic categories of incontinent products. So read on to find out more.

Pads or Guards: The first group of products includes pads or guards. These products have the ability to absorb light until moderate amounts of urine. Pads or guards work usually best for women with stress incontinence. When we speak of Liners or Insert Liner, commonly called inserts, are larger than pads or guards. This are commonly used for adult day care.

This category of product, which is designed to hold more urine, works well for people with urge incontinence. Belted or Beltless Products Belted or beltless products are designed for people who have urge or reflex incontinence, but who tend to void more than can be contained in an insert or liner.

Protective Underwear or Discreet Disposable Panties: The fourth in the disposable products category is rising fast. It includes protective underwear, more commonly known as discreet disposable panties. This category of products is designed to hold more than the first three groups mentioned. These products can be used by either women or men.

Tabbed Briefs: Tabbed briefs are composed of a group of products that boasts superior absorbency and can be worn by men and women, both for ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals.

Disposable Underpads: Disposable underpads can be used by everybody, as they offer surface protection. Unlike the other products, which are designed to be worn against the body, these pads are designed to protect what is under the incontinent person (e.g., linen, mattress or chair). There are about seven standard sizes, which run from 17 x 24 to 27 x 70. I hope this crash course will help you navigate those treacherous aisles of confusion. Next month, you can look forward to a more detailed breakdown of the categories. And the most important of all, I’ll address how to choose the products that are right for you. Feel free to leave me some comments and stay tuned for my future posts for long term care.
